Custom Children's Books

In 2006, I started making customized children's books for families.

I would get to know the child's favorite toys and interests then write and draw a story in which the child was a protagonist of their own children's book that incorporated these personal attributes - a custom children's book.

"Milo's Train" (May 2006)
A boy goes on a train ride adventure with his animal friends.

This was the first book used as a prototype which I based upon my oldest son, Milo. He was into trains and animals and was dealing with a new baby brother.

"Maya and the Butterfly" (September 2008)
A girl helps her butterfly friend find his brother.

The Wadhwani family lived between Irving and Hugo Streets which became the names of the brother butterflies. Many of the magical toys in the book were ones she played with frequently.

"Adventures of the McKane Brothers: The Box" (August 2010)
Three brothers find a box in their living room labeled, "Adventure awaits".

The McKane brothers each had their turn at playing the hero and their parents were cleverly incorporated as characters that helped them along their journey.

More books

  • "Aaron: The Tale of the Monkey and the Snake" (June 2009)
